Saw War of the Worlds yesterday. Some of the things that struck me:
This is no feel-good movie. I was gripped with fear a number times.
It’s one of those films that you think you’ve enjoyed it but you’re not quite sure why. Even the effects, which were outstanding, do not seem to be enough of a reason for it being an enjoyable film. Not sure...perhaps I’ll have to see it again.




Pacman comes to life! Whatever will they think of next?!
I love to make coffee…the proper stuff. Some friends have just given me some great coffee (Dark Sumatra) from a local supplier. Their web-link suggests it may be the best coffee in the world…probably. Without doubt it is a fine coffee.

Here are some of the first reactions from the critics. Sounds promising. The question is did Chris Tookey of the Daily Mail see a different film? Or maybe the question should be is he not on Lucas’s payroll? That was a bit low...sorry.
Tonight sees the return of the Dalek to our TV screens bringing back fond memories. I’ve been building up the anticipation with the kids all week. Jacob, the youngest, woke up with nervous excitement this morning - he can’t stop talking about it.
What was really encouraging was the theme of what church is all about in the 21st century. I felt the local church was truly championed at a time in our nation and in our post-modern world where the church is often misrepresented, misinterpreted or misunderstood.
Jesus is building his church!
